Our Curriculum.

Designed to meet the needs of the “whole child”: emotionally, socially and cognitively

Based on California Preschool Learning Foundations

Ventura Children’s Learning Center offers the best of both learning worlds with our daily teacher facilitated developmental center based learning and Pre-k academic programs.

All of which are designed to build upon your child’s unique skills and qualities and help make them successful now and later in elementary school.

In addition we also have academics in our Pre-K program to prepare them for Kindergarten in the fall.

All classroom curriculum

At Ventura Children’s Learning Center, our teachers have prepared learning activities that fit each child’s stage of development. We aim to assist the little ones in building their confidence, social skill as well as their self-esteem

Our teachers facilitate an environment that is supported by developmental center based learning activities. The engaging activities help children to make connections in language, critical thinking, reasoning, perception and making choices.

Our curriculum are done weekly and encompass:

Pre-kindergarten program

In addition to the above facilitated learning centers, we also have academics in our Pre-K program that helps children to prepare for Kindergarten in the fall.

The Pre-Kindergarten program encompasses 15 key areas of learning that are incorporated and taught in the lesson plans. Which include phonics, writing and mathematics

Extracurricular activities

Garden

Preschool gardening engages children by providing an interactive environment to observe, discover, experiment, nurture and learn.
School garden is a living laboratory where interdisciplinary lessons are drawn from real life experiences, encouraging children to become active participants in the learning process.
Studies have shown that school gardens encourage preference and consumption of fruits and vegetables, increase parental support and involvement, and improve children's enthusiasm about preschool/child care, teamwork skills and self-understanding.

Soccer

Soccer develops agility, speed and stamina, and also teaches children the importance of teamwork, so it can play an important part in your child’s physical and social development.
Playing with a soccer team develops a child’s ability to cooperate and interact with other children. Studies have shown that children who play soccer develop self-confidence and improved social skills.

Yoga

Yoga helps kids to develop body awareness, learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement.
Practicing yoga builds concentration of the children, increases their confidence and positive self-image. It also helps them feel art of a healthy, non-competitive group.
